DESERT REFILL
Hello Neighbors! I am starting up a business that sells refills on common household consumables like hand soap, shampoo, laundry detergent and other cleaning products. Bring your own container, or purchase a reusable one, and fill up on all your household needs. I will be at the St. Phillip's Plaza Artisan Market every Saturday, starting on Small Business Saturday. Support your (very) local business and come visit me!
I am also looking to start a pilot program just in our neighborhood, that is milk-man style. Imagine this, all your household cleaners and personal care items delivered emissions-free to your door once a month, in reusable containers, and I will pick up the old containers as well. I'm Julia and I am starting a microschool in the neighborhood.
It is through a company called Prenda and it's a very exciting new format, especially for children that are not feeling especially successful in a traditional school environment. It is rather like a cross between homeschool and traditional school. The school is actually located in my home, so it is a comfortable environment. Children receive personalized one-on-one attention, but also have opportunities for socializing and working collaboratively with peers.
Prenda believes in creating empowered, curious, and self-motivated learners. It is also a model that is built on mastery learning as opposed to traditional curriculum pacing that moves forward whether students truly learned the content or not.
Class sizes are very small, between 5-10 students and our school day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Our first day of school will be in the new year on January 18th.

Summer Watering and Home Care
We are Julia and Jim Fischer, we live on Genematas and would be interested in helping neighbors through the hot summer months with watering plants and home care. The only days we are not available are June 24th through June 26th, otherwise our schedule is open. My husband Jim and I have been living here just over a year and one of the reasons we moved here is because of the beautiful landscape as well as to escape the snow and mosquitoes. My husband is from Minnesota and I am from Hamburg, Germany.
We have been taking care of cats for others while they are on vacation, so if people are looking for this service, this an option as well. We also can collect mail and check property for people when they are gone to help keep our neighborhood as safe as possible.
